Linguist and Mathematician. Sidis, named for family friend, Prof. William James, was born to Boris and Sarah, who were intellectuals in their own right. There are many instances of William's profound and precocious genius as a young boy. Sidis graduated from Harvard at the age of sixteen. After a short stint at Harvard Law, Sidis briefly taught in Texas, only to be let go.

Sidis lived his life on his own terms. Because of his genius, newspapers hounded him and that forced him into living a private life. He continued living a double life as a writer and working menial jobs. Sidis was eccentric in his appearance which was contrary to a era that placed emphasis on good habits.

Sidis's life was unconventional but one worth pondering. We have to ask ourselves if genius is born or made. If so, how is it to be harnessed?
