Comfort Chaffee, Jr. b. Feb 8, 1792, Clarendon, Vermont. d. Dec. 17, 1813, Berkshire, Vermont. He was the son of Comfort Chaffee and Lucy Stow. He married Oct. 27, 1811 at Berkshire, Vt. Priscilla Danforth, b. August 28, 1790, Heartland, Vermont. d. March 1, 1880, Berkshire, Vt. She was the daughter of William Danforth of Billerica, Mass. and Priscilla Hoadley. She was a sister of Sally Danforth, who married Comfort's brother, Reuben.

Comfort was a farmer and bought land from his father on Feb. 9, 1813 for $200. 00. After his death, his estate was handled by his brother, Reuben, his widow waving her right as adminstratrix. The property was divided between his widow, Priscilla, and his father. After his death, Priscilla married his younger brother, John.
