Mrs. Ruby Leona O’Neal Stewart,94, of Scottsboro, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. Mrs. Stewart was born in Hornscreek, Tennessee and was the oldest member of Union Primitive Baptist Church of Woodville, Al.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from Scottsboro Funeral Home with Elder Darrel Chambers and Elder Gene Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her children: Brenda (Barry) Groves, Mike Stewart, Martha (Don) Drayton, Joe (Marti) Stewart, Sam (Bridget) Stewart and Beverly (Jon) Benson, grandchildren; Ben Groves, Brian Groves, Becky Groves, Kristin Seaborn, Scott Stewart, Sara Miller, James Stewart, Philip Stewart, Christina Simmons, Stephen Stewart, Beverly Benson, Samantha Caterinichia and Isabella Stewart, 23 great grandchildren, brother; Charles Melvin O’Neal, many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; James Albert Stewart, daughter; Jaretta Stewart, parents; Samuel and Ellen O’Neal, brothers and sisters; Herbert O’Neal, Ivella Crumbly, Annie Pockrus, Houston O’Neal, James O’Neal, Clyde O’Neal, Arthur O’Neal, David O’Neal, and Floyd O’Neal.
