CENTERVILLE - Beverly R. Simmons, 77, passed away March 7, 2019, following an extended illness surrounded by her family.

Beverly was born on January 13, 1942, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Ruth Mae Hipwell and Harold Archie Rogers. Ruth and Harold had seven additional children Diane (Glen) Campbell, Elaine (Bob) Cliften, Michael (Chris) Rogers, Dennis (Sharilyn) Rogers, Sheila (Steve) Jaques, Craig (Barbara) Rogers, and Brent (Denise) Rogers.

Beverly grew-up in Plain City; married Clark E. Simmons, March 6, 1959, and later moved to Centerville, where she has been a longtime resident.

During Beverly's professional career she worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) holding several positions. Her accomplishments and drive lead to several leadership roles, ending her career as a Management Analyst. During her career she traveled the country juggling her personal and professional life. Beverly's hard-work, drive, and determination was unstoppable. She took pride in everything she did. Those who knew her will attest she was a perfectionist by nature.

Beverly was an excellent listener (aka special secret keeper). She was an awesome mother and grandmother who welcomed everyone into her home. Beverly never turned down a game of Scrabble or missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune.

In 1999, a severe heart attack ended a near 38 year service career at IRS and she retired. After a short retirement break she took on a second career, in customer service, working for The Basement, Target and Marshall's.

Beverly adored her family. She hosted numerous family gathering where she catered to her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her six children, Duane (Laurie Green) Simmons, Jana (Ron) VanderWerff, Cindy Tinsley, Julie (Mike) Stoof, Tom Simmons and Gary (Shanna) Simmons. Along with six children there are 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Clark E. Simmons and her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation to the COPD Foundation www.copdfoundation.org/ in memory of her beloved husband.
