Sue Lanette (Schwandt) McAllister was born in Lewiston on March 30, 1955, to Lynn and Helen Schwandt. The family moved frequently while she was growing up, but eventually settled in Potlatch, where she graduated high school and met her husband, Mike. They were married April 26, 1975, and made their first home in Orofino, where they started their family. They later moved to St. Maries and finally settled in Lewiston.

Sue was a dedicated mother of three and grandmother of four. She loved spending time with her family and playing games, especially pinochle. She had a compassionate heart and a great love for animals, providing home and care for any animals in need. Sue was always one to give without needing credit and took great joy in seeing the happiness it brought to those she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Heather Schacher and husband Jason of Lewiston, Shanna Bruun and husband Tony of Lewiston, and Tarah Hoelter and husband Lucas of Portland. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Morgan, Cheyenne, Kinsey and Griffin.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens, 3521 Seventh St., Lewiston.
