Trevor is survived by his loving mother, Krista Tompkins Nelson and his beloved brother Jared Nelson. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Ellen Ruth Tompkins, as well as aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Guy Tompkins. During the final years of Guy’s life, Trevor dedicated his life to the care of Guy during his declining health.

Trevor sadly became ill eight months ago, and unfortunately only received the diagnosis of ALS on February 27, 2019. He passed away a few days later from this devastating degenerative disease. During the last days of Trevor’s life, he was surrounded by countless family members and friends, filling his hospital room with fond stories and memories. Trevor called this time a celebration of his life.

In addition to being a devoted grandson, son and brother, Trevor was a world history enthusiast, a composer of music, an incredibly talented guitar player, and magician. His music compositions were enjoyed online by listeners all over the world. When not composing music, Trevor developed lasting friendships with people from around the world through online video games. Trevor had a talent for bringing out the best in those he knew, as well as creating strong lasting bonds, and always turning friends into family. To those he loved, Trevor also provided wisdom, sincerity and a strong guiding voice.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Dr., Houston, Texas 77055.
