Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend has been led by our Blessed Mother Mary to her eternal rest after a courageous battle with cancer. Cynthia peacefully and willingly answered, “Here I am Lord if you lead me.”

Cynthia was a proud Nixon High School class of 1969 graduate. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University she returned to her alma mater and taught for over 30 years. She was actively involved in the betterment of the school serving as Master Teacher and serving on campus improvement committees as well as sponsoring extracurricular activities for the development of the total student. She thoroughly enjoyed her time traveling with the Golden Spurs and assisting Mrs. Kramer with the Nationally Recognized Group.

After retirement Cynthia took a few years off to refresh and then began serving the teachers and students of UISD by substituting for 8 years. She took a liking to middle school students and gravitated to serve them.

Cynthia gave her time and talent to both her church and Laredo Area Retired School Employee Association. As a LARSEA member she served as past president of the local chapter as well as multiple years as treasurer. In addition, she represented the local chapter on the District level serving as a District Officer. She selflessly gave her time to advocate and promote the needs of all teachers. However, her greatest peace and joy came from serving her Blessed Sacrament Parish as an Altar Society Member, Prayer Group Participant, and devout parishioner.

Cynthia enjoyed traveling on cruises and to any destination with a casino and for years she was a season ticket holder traveling to support the San Antonio Spurs. She never passed up an opportunity to join her sisters or friends when the invitation was extended.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her loving parents, Victor and Doris Rodriguez, her siblings, Victor M. Rodriguez Jr. and Victoria A. Rodriguez.

A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
