John (Johannes) grew up on a farm in the Rhein area. He married Margaret Elaine Beamish in 1959. He worked for the CNR for 34 years. Upon retirement he became a CRA, and appraised real estate for 12 years. At the age of 46, he obtained a BA from the University of Brandon. John married Beverlee Anne Henry (nee Beauchamp) in 1984.

John was an active member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, Regina Chapter. He created an extensive list of the descendants of his Great Grandparents, Friedrich and Eva Margaretta Graf. John enjoyed operating his Ham radio, golfing, cooking, and going to church. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a joke or humorous story. He was a man of great integrity who spent much of his time volunteering for numerous organizations.

John and Margaret had three children: Tamara Lynne, Patricia Lea, and David John Lincoln.
