Jessie M Foster, 96, of The Elms in Macomb died there Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004.

Born July 31, 1907, in Scotland Township to Arthur and Mary Elizabeth West Shannon, she married Gale Osborn in August 1929. He died Aug. 20, 1948.

She also was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, one stepdaughter, one stepson and two stepgrandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Dale "Buck" (and Eva Mae) Osborn and Robert (and Myrna) Osborn; one daughter, Annabel (and Jack) Frakes; one brother, Ivan Shannon; five stepsons, Max Foster, Irvin Foster, Bernard Foster, Gerald Foster and Robert Foster; two stepdaughters, Marsha Adams and Janice Parker; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

A schoolteacher, she taught in her early years and later in 1953 began teaching in Bushnell until retiring.

She also worked for Illinois Porcelain.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was past president of the Macomb Senior Citizens.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Macomb.
