Born on Nov. 11, 1914, in Charlotte County, to the late J.T. Williams and Bessie Chappell Williams.
She is survived by a son, R. Baxter Griffith Jr. of Springfield, Va.; a daughter, Brenda Wright of Gordonsville, Va.; a sister, Marion Watson of Dallas, Texas; one brother, James T. Williams of Christiansburg, Va.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was a long time resident of the Crozet community and faithful member of Crozet Baptist Church. She was a teacher and librarian until she retired from Henrico Public Schools.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at Crozet Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Crozet Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Rockgate Cemetery, Crozet, with Dr. Roy S. Thomas III and the Rev. David Collyer officiating.
