She loved her family and friends above all else. She accepted responsibility for taking care of both parents until they went to Heaven. Tammy and Kimberly were her family, her girls. She could not have loved them more if she had given birth to them. She joined her earthly father in heaven on his birthday.
Dorothy is survived by; niece Tammy Olmstead (Jeff), great nephew Jordan Olmstead, great nephew Bailey Olmstead, niece Kimberly Camp (James), great niece Alex Camp and great nephew Jonah Camp.
Dorothy was preceded in death by; father Joe Ballard (1922-1997) and mother Dorothy "Dot" Ballard(1926-2005); sister Jackie Faulkner.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A graveside service will occur Friday, March 1, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery, 431 60th St. N., Birmingham, AL 35212.
