Specialized in magneto work in Detroit, Michigan. Came west in 1911 and filed on a homestead at 16-30-6 W4. Built a shack, a table and some chairs. In 1912 hired someone to build a house and then went back to Ontario for his bride Bessie Hesselwood. Crawford was known for his beautiful flower gardens and fruit trees. Bessie provided room and board for the teacher, grew strawberries and raised turkeys and chickens. Crawford farmed with 6 horses and stopped work every day at 6 o'clock. He passed away at the Cereal Sports Day on July 23, 1952 at the age of 74.
