Mr. Waymon Junior Akins, age 46 of Aragon passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009.

Mr. Akins was born on December 29, 1962 in Aragon, son of the late Jesse Akins and the late Lillie Mae Smith Akins. He was a self-employed painter and was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly. Mr. Akins was preceded in death by three brothers, Mr. Elmer Gene Akins, Mr. William Jesse Akins and Mr. Thomas Alton Akins.

Survivors include four sisters and brothers-in-law, Etta & James Dick of Conley, Shirley & Kenneth Smith of Rockmart, Linda & Carol Van Orden of Aragon and Robbie & Terry Clemons of Spring, TX; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles & Betty Akins of Austell and Rayford & Gena Akins of Rockmart. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Akins will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillips Gentry officiating.
