Gary Eugene Norton, 71, of Ottawa passed away peacefully Jan. 17, 2016, in Ottawa Pavilion. Arrangements have been made with Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Memorial services will be at a later date.

Gary was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Pittsfield to Harold Eugene and Anna Mae Roads Norton. He married Judy Vaini on Aug. 25, 1976, at the Princeton Courthouse. Gary retired as a truck driver with over 30 years of experience.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Norton of Ottawa; three daughters, Mary Ann Keller of Spring Valley, Debbie (Terry) Taylor of Missouri and Jaci (Ken) George of Kenosha, Wis.; one son, Jeff (Lisa) Norton of Spring Valley; five grandchildren, Chase, Nick, Sarah, Mackenzie and Spencer; and two sisters, Sandra (Basil) Platto of Jerseyville and Connie Norton of Virden.

Gary was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and Roger Norton.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be directed to the family or American Diabetes Association.
