Raymond was born October 27, 1928 in Snyder, Texas and moved to the Edmonson area at six weeks old with his parents, a brother and five sisters to be raised on the family farm.
Raymond met Alma his wife of 65 years at First Baptist Church of Edmonson, TX and both graduated from Plainview High School. Alma passed away in 2014.
Raymond served two years in the Air Force as an air traffic controller during the Korean war then returned to Texas to begin his work life including multi-faceted activities in direct sales, agriculture and management until he retired at age 86.
Raymond faithfully served in multiple leadership capacities in various churches including directing music, teaching youth and singing in the worship choir.
Raymond is survived by one sibling, Pat Thompson of Plainview, 5 children- Stephen Garms of McKinney Tx, Pam Horn of Little Elm, Tx, Rick Garms of Denton Tx, Brad Garms of McKinney Tx, and Derrell Garms of Lubbock Tx. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren and endless nieces and nephews who still love to tell stories of their Uncle Raymond's countless jokes and pranks. Please join us to rejoice in his life and his return to his beloved Alma.
