John N. Biggs, 67, Manhattan, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1993, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center, Topeka.
He was born Feb. 21, 1926, at Hoisington to. R.R. "Mike" and Eulalia (Norton) Biggs. He married Bernice A. Rosse Jan. 24, 1945, in
Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays and Kansas State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He managed a J.C. Penney store in Manhattan for 10 years and was a state inspector for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment until his retirement in 1985. He had lived in Manhattan since 1958. He was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion, Phi Kappa Phi and Manhattan Arts Council, all of Manhattan.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice, of the home; three sons, Michael Biggs, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, John Biggs, Manhattan, and Chris
Biggs, Junction City; two daughters. Suzanne Knorr, Hays, and Kathleen Barclay, Prairie Village; his mother, Eulalia Biggs, Murray,
Ky.; three brothers, Max Biggs, Phillipsburg, Ross Biggs, Abilene, and Joe Biggs, Waverly; a sister, Mary Bartlett, Murray, Ky., and
five grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mike.
