Adeline Whittle Margetts, age 84, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, died March 15, 1991 after a lingering illness.
She was born November 14, 1906 in Murray, Utah to John and Matilda Nelson Whittle. On November 19,1924, she married Lester R. Margetts in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lester preceded her in death, January 19, 1988. Adeline was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Primary and Relief Society and as a visiting teacher for over 50 years. She was also a former member of the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce. Her whole life was dedicated to her husband, sons and their wives, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by all. She demonstrated devotion to her eight brothers and sisters. Adeline was a shining example in her unselfish ways in going the extra mile in service to all.
Survivors: sons, Glen V. Margetts and wife, Audrey; Lynn R. Margetts and wife, Marla; daughter-in-law, Beverly Margetts, all West Jordan; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Roy Whittle and wife, Ann; Mabe Jensen, both Murray; Ella Nielsen and Vilate Nielsen; Mrs. Glenn (Mildred) France, all Taylorsville; Verl and Bobbie Whittle, Rose Park. Preceded in death by son, Lester Wayne Margetts; daughter, Margie Margetts; sister, Edna Corn; brother, Cleo Whittle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 18, 1991, 11 a.m. in the West Jordan 29th LDS Ward Chapel, 6695 South 2200 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
