Good afternoon. Thank you all so much for coming today to celebrate the life of Lottie Jean Stephen Tullis or, as I know her, Grandma. I know Grandma is in Heaven right now just shaking her head and wanting this to be over quickly. She never realized the impact she had on people but hopefully now she is seeing just a piece of the impact she had.

She married Gene Tullis in Texarkana, Arkansas on September 29, 1951; they were married for 47 years. I was lucky enough to be able to see the love my Grandma and Grandpa had for each other. Whether it was dancing with each other in the kitchen, working together to cook a Thanksgiving meal, or just simply sitting together reading the paper while drinking their morning coffee.

A couple of years after she retired while raising my brother and I, Grandma took up bowling. She LOVED bowling and especially loved the people she got to bowl with. When you asked Grandma how her bowling scores were, she always talked about how bad she did. Grandma, 200 and 165 are not bad scores. I don't even do that well with bumpers! She bowled up until she got sick and always had the goal of going back so I am sure she has found a way to bowl again in heaven.

There are so many things I admired about my Grandma, the main one being the relationship and the love she had for her children. She loved traveling with her daughters and the memories she made during their adventures. She anticipated her daily phone call from my Dad on his way home from work. Another one was her giving nature. Grandma did not want a party she simply wanted to eat lunch at the Yantis Cafe' and she would pay for it. She wanted things on her terms and she was not afraid to tell you about it. She is definitely where I get my hardheadedness from. Friendships were also important to her, especially the one that always started her day with a phone call from her best friend, Annie. This friendship evolved over time, through their working years and on in to their retirement years.

Grandma loved her TV shows. Her favorites were Steve Harvey Family Feud, Jeopardy, and her nightly show, The Wheel. Grandma also had love for her canine pals; she loved to share her peanut butter with Mr. Mac. Tooter was her beloved companion for many years and they too shared many meals and memories. Her most recent pup was a small dog named Girly Girl. They loved to look at each other with Girly Girl making faces instead of speaking.

Grandma, thank you so much for taking on the responsibility of raising two teenagers. I am who I am today because of you and the influence you had on my life; from watching me play sports to supporting me in everything I did. When ever I needed advice you were always there reminding me to stay positive, to keep my chin up, and that I was a "Grandma's Girl".

Last Saturday night as I rushed to Yantis to be by your side, a flood of many memories, thoughts, and prayers came to my mind. My last hope is for you to remember how much you were admired and loved by everyone. You will be greatly missed.
