DURHAM - Mrs. Eunice Ferrell Austin, 85, died Saturday afternoon at the Hospice of the Meadowland, Hillsborough. Born in Durham, Mrs. Austin was the daughter of the late Zebulon Vance Ferrell and Mary Alice Ferrell. Her husband, Allen D. Austin Jr., died on October 26, 1995. Mrs. Austin retired from Angier Avenue Baptist Church, where she was church secretary for 31 years.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Austin, of Durham, Allen D. Austin III and wife, Sandy, of Chapel Hill; one daughter, Sandy McFall and husband, Donnie, of Durham; two grandchildren, Jennifer Morris and Sarah Austin; and one great- granddaughter, Samantha Morris.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Robert Phillips and the Rev Clarence Parrish will preside. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to Angier Avenue Baptist Church, 2101 Angier Avenue, Durham, NC 27703.
