Rachel Taylor Conner, age 83, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Monday, February 11, 2019, at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC.
A native of Rutherford County, NC; daughter of the late William Ross Taylor (1906–1984) and Sarah Mae White Taylor (1911–2003); wife of the late David C. Conner (1934–2003).
A faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years; worked on the farm and at the sawmill with her husband all her life.
Also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lee Taylor (1938-2011); and a sister, Patsy Alma Taylor Queen (1930-2003).
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Conner Hirt; son, David Ray Conner (Betty); brothers, William Edgar Taylor (1936–2020), James Berry "Jim" Taylor (1940-2020), John Dennis Taylor, Charles Donald Taylor; sisters, Lillian Taylor Frazier (1932–2021) and Peggy Taylor Cooper; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
