Fred E. Fowler, 81, of Blossvale, NY passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at The Grand of Rome where he had been a resident since January 2, 2019. He was born on September 8, 1937 in Blossvale, NY a son of Gordon & Vera Phelps Fowler. Fred was a graduate of Camden High School. He was a former Oneida City Police Officer and then was employed by the Town of Vienna for nearly twenty years. Fred married the former Dolores A. Douglas on June 10, 1983 at the Vienna United Methodist Church, she passed away January 22, 2019. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Fred is survived by two sons, Fred & Dolly Fowler, Jr. and Michael & Merla Fowler, five step-daughters, Avis & Robert Butler, Dolly & Fred Fowler, Jr., Molly & Clint Good, Amy & Bruce Ashmead and Polly & Trent Beck, three step-sons, Wayne Beck, Wallace Beck and Eddie ‘Royce’ & Gloria Beck, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one brother, Bob Fowler and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Ruth. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 from the McConnellsville Cemetery, McConnellsville, NY at a time to be announced. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a humane society of choice.
