Survivors include three sons, Joseph, Jr. (Jane), Jeffrey (Julie), and Jay (Amy); seven grandchildren; brother Robert; sisters, JoAnne and Jean.
Born and raised in Buffalo, Joseph graduated from Corpus Christi School in 1954, Hutchinson Technical School in 1958, attended the University at Buffalo’s Millard Fillmore College, and served in the U.S. Army. As a civil engineer for the State DOT, he served as a designer, inspector, and project initiator. He was a member of the NYS Association of Transportation Engineers, the NYS Public Employees Federation, the Pontiac Oakland Club International, and the U.S. Chess Federation. His interests also included music, architecture, and spending time with family.
Family will receive relatives and friends at the Wendel and Loecher, Inc. Funeral Home, 27 Aurora Street, Lancaster, Sunday from 2-6 PM, where Services will be held Monday morning at 9 AM. Interment in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery to follow.
