Roy O. Hoehn, 73, died Monday afternoon at 1:20 in his home of an apparent heart attack. He had been a civil engineer for Superior Coal Company until the mines closed, and later worked for oil companies in Macoupin and Madison Counties. Mr. Hoehn was a former member of the School Board, director of the Gillespie Building and Loan Assn, the First Methodist church, club, Eastern Star chapter and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the First Methodist church with the Rev. J. Clodfelder officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield cemetery Carlinville.

Born on February 1, 1889 in Brushy Mound Township near Carlinville, he was the son of the late Frank and Hettie (Clark) Hoehn. On June 29, 1915, he was married to Miss Verna Olive Camp of Staunton who preceded him in death on July 28, 1938. He was later married to Miss Marcia McKee of Denmark, IA on September 19, 1943. Surviving in addition to his wife, who is a teacher at the Gillespie High School, are a son, Howard of Frankfort, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. Francis (Helen Grace) Anderson, White Hall; four brothers, Holland A. of Gillespie, Raymond of Chicago, Randall F. of Manito,IL, and Robert R. of Kirkwood, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Lewis, San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Mildred Brubaker of Nilpipes, Calif., and a granddaughter. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Friends may call this afternoon at the Heebnstreit funeral home.
