Robert C. Whybrew was born June 13, 1920, in Las Animas, Colo., to Thomas and Coral Whybrew. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1939 and attended Bethany Nazarene College. He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation radioman in Word War II. He pastored Nazarene Churches, including the Church of the Nazarene in Sierra Vista, Ariz., for three years. He later worked for the Sierra Vista school system. After retirement, he enjoyed gardening and animal husbandry.
He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor and for the way he applied himself to hard labor.
Robert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ernestine Whybrew; daughters, Ladonna (Larry) Bennett and Delora (William) Myers; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A time of visitation was held Thursday, May 31, 2007, at Jensen's Sierra Vista Mortuary. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Jensen's Sierra Vista Mortuary, 5515 S. Highway 92, in Sierra Vista. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007, at Cochise Memory Gardens, in Sierra Vista.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jensen's Sierra Vista Mortuary.
