Josephine was born on February 7, 1930, to TJ and Ida Avaltroni in Cleveland, Mississippi. On July 17, 1950, she married Kenneth Dean Cannon, Sr. in Shelby, MS. Josephine was the salutatorian of the Shelby High School class of 1948. For 25 years, she worked at Oak Grove Retirement Home as a certified Dietician. Josephine was well known for her famous meatballs and lasagna that she made. She was a Eucharistic minister and reader at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shelby, MS.
She is preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Cannon, Sr.; a son, Paul Daniel Cannon; and her parents, Tillio John “TJ” Avaltroni and Ida Pettinari Avaltroni .
Josephine is survived by her children, Kenneth Cannon, Jr. (Angela) of The Colony, TX, David Cannon (Melinda) of Flowood, MS, Tim Cannon of McKinney, TX, Randy Cannon (Dianne) of Olive Branch, MS, and Cheryl Sneed (Wayne) of Farmersville, TX; grandchildren, Kenny Cannon, Jason Cannon, Daniel Cannon, Brett Cannon, Josie Weisenberger, Kimberly Perez, Jenny Keith, Blake Cannon, Jeff Cannon, Ryan Harrington, Meagan Moakes, Jenna Capps, and Philip Sneed; and great grandchildren, Zane Cannon, Maddox Cannon, Jacob Cannon, Ella Cannon, Gavin Perez, Haley Perez, Rose Keith, Juliet Cannon, Noah Cannon, Mary Grace Cannon, Kyleigh Capps, Bailey Capps, Cambrie Capps, Caden Harrington, Cole Sneed, and Emilee Sneed.
