"Cemeteries of Brown Co., IL" states that Andrew Shankland and wife Judith Ann Stoops are buried in two different cemeteries. I have personally been to the Buckhorn Cem. and know for a fact that they're buried there, NOT at the Linn Cemetery. This was an editing mistake at the time the book was compiled. Their headstone is a tall pillar shaped headstone located near the front of Buckhorn cemetery and contains the information for both Andrew and his wife Judith on different sides. He was the son of John Shankland and Sarah Harney who are buried on the site of the family homestead in Nicholas Co., KY.

They were the parents of 11 children, nine of whom traveled with them to Brown Co., IL about 1853, including married children and grandchildren. Judith was the youngest daughter of William Stoops and Mary Ann Brown. She and Andrew were married on 29 Dec 1825 in Nicholas Co., KY and moved to Brown Co., IL in about 1853.
