Gary Shrum of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 75. He was born October 26, 1943 in Okmulgee, Ok to Ralph Pershing and Faye Ophelia (Phillips) Shrum. He married Peggy Tindle in August of 1994. They were members of Quaker Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Gary graduated from Crosbyton High School. He retired after 39 years as a line foreman for Southwestern Public Service.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Peggy; children, Kim Spann (Mike), Danny Shrum (Patti) and Glen Shrum; siblings, Guy Shrum (Pat) and Frances Mixon, nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Vickie, and one son Shannon Huckabee.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 1:00 -8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Ralls Cemetery, Ralls, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
