Vinton - Nola Lindahl, age 78, died peacefully Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids from complications of a stroke.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Van Steenhuye-Russell Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, and an hour before services at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.

Nola Christine Lindahl was born May 5, 1932 at Atlanta, MO, the daughter of Olin and Celia Hall Baldwin. Her family moved to Vinton in the 1940s and Nola graduated from Vinton High School in 1950. On May 29, 1955 she married Alvin Lindahl in Vinton. Alvin and Nola farmed in the Vinton area all their lives. Nola enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and she especially loved time spent with family and friends.

Nola is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alvin, Vinton; three children, Brenda (Doug) Sutton, Vinton, Ranae (Brad) Lenderink, Castle Rock, CO, and Darwin Lindahl, Iowa City, IA; brother, Edwin (Beverly) Baldwin, La Porte City, IA; sisters, Faye (Bill) Cummings, Vinton, Joan (Don) Anders, Newhall, IA, Pat (Larry) Davis, Des Moines, IA, and Mardene (Gary) Schulke, Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial fund has been established.
