Served in the Revolutionary War

Timothy was one of the purchasing agents for and founder of the Granville, Ohio settlers from Granville, Massachusetts in 1805.
Timothy built the first cabin in Granville. The cabin was 20 by 28 feet and had a large fire pit at the open end of the cabin. Then in the winter of 1807 he completed the first frame house in the village.

He was an Associate Judge from 1808 to 1813, in Licking County, Ohio. Judge Rose was a high-toned, intellectual and intelligent gentleman, and a man of high character, of sound judgment, and undoubted patriotism.

He served in the Revolutionary war, and distinguished himself as an officer, at the storming of a British redoubt, at the surrender of Cornwallis, at Yorktown in 1781.

Timothy Rose was Granville's first postmaster. In the summer of 1806, he built the first tavern, which also served as the post office.

He was a deacon at Presbyterian Church.
