CHOATE, ELBERT (BURT)—age 89 of Knoxville, died at 11:04 p.m. March 24, 2005 at U.T. Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Marie Choate; and daughter, Bobbie Jean Reed.

Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Glenda (Claude) Roberts of Knoxville; sons and daughters-in-law: Gary (Betty) Choate of Knoxville, Ronald Clark Choate of Canton, GA, Charles Ray Choate, and Josh (Jennifer) Choate, all of Knoxville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Delta Netta Pennycuff; brothers, Arney Austin Choate, Truman Alvin Choate, and Charles Dean Choate; special friend, Honey.

Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Rev. Wayne McMillian officiating. Pallbearers: Josh Choate, Justin Hall Choate, James and Jeff Heath, Bryan Choate, Claude Roberts, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at Broadway.
