He was born on Monday, May 2, 1983 in Martinsville, Indiana. Matt was a contractor. He enjoyed playing music, writing music, writing poetry and painting.
Matt is survived by his children, Devon Ray Chastain of Phenix City, Alabama, Xavier Lee Chastain of Brooklyn, Kannyn Allen Chastain of Brooklyn, Aiden Lipp of Paragon, Nevaeh Lynn Chastain of Martinsville, Bella Marie Chastain of Phenix City, Alabama, Amelia Sarah Kay Chastain of Paragon, Abbagale Nicole Scott of Paragon and Izabella Basso of Paragon; mother, Judith L. “Judi” (Russell) Chastain of Martinsville; father and stepmother, Mark A. and Cynthia Lea Chastain of Paragon; brother, Mark A. Chastain, Jr. and wife Joni of Martinsville; sister, Amanda Curtis and husband Jason of Paragon; stepsister, Heather swain and husband Bill of Greenwood; grandparents, Sharon Chastain and John and Nancy Russell.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Spirit of Life Church, 189 West Indiana Street, Martinsville, Indiana, with Pastor Adam Varnell officiating. Visitation will be at the church, after the service until 8:00 p.m.
Private graveside services will be Thursday at Olive Christian Church Cemetery.
