In 1960 Jerry graduated from Jamestown High School and was active in the FFA. On February 20, 1960, Jerry was married to his high school sweetheart Ruth Ann Garrett who survives of the home. Jerry was very proud of his native American heritage with the Osage Tribe. He enjoyed farming, custom hay hauling, riding horses and raising cattle. Jerry enjoyed fishing, skiing and camping with his family and friends. After graduating high school, Jerry worked at International Shoe Factory, DeLong’s, Goff’s Supermarket, (where he learned to butcher), later at Cal’s, was a supervisor with Purina (now Cargill) on the chicken processing line, Jefferson City Auto Supply as a Salesman and Twehous Excavating. In the late 1970’s, Jerry owned operated Jerry’s Butcher Shop until his retirement in 2015.
Along with his wife, Jerry is survived by: 1 son, Terry Allen (Carol) of Centertown; one daughter Sherry Anderson (Rodney) of Tipton; 4 granddaughters, Amanda, Kassity, Megan and Sydney; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Judy Buerky of Jamestown; mother-in-law Jessie Garrett; one brother-in-law Lupus Garrett Lupus; one sister-in-law Rita Cahill; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service on Saturday, February 09, 2019 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with funeral services following at 1:00 PM Rev. Dennis Maxwell officiating. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Cemetery.
