Orvel L. Childers of Lexington, Ky., formerly of West Frankfort and Cairo, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1986, in Lexington. He was 78. He was a retired wholesale driver for the Dixie Bell Dairy Co. of Lexington. His religious affiliation was with Calvary Baptist Church of Lexington. He was born May 8, 1907, in West Frankfort, to Marion Joel Childers and Melissa Leigh Childers. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Boner; two daughters, Donna Meadows of Lexington and Linda Dyson of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Curt Childers, Carlsbad, N. M.; and two sisters, Lillian Yesinkus and Dimple Arnett, both of West Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services in Stone Funeral Home, West Frankfort, burial in Boner Cemetery, West Frankfort.
