Evelyn Childers, 86, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of West Frankfort, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Mrs. Childers was born Aug. 18, 1914, in West Frankfort, a daughter of Harrison and Jesse (Ragsdale) Boner.
She was married to Orvel Childers, who died Jan. 14, 1986. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Central Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, both of Lexington. She was a retired personnel manager for W.T. Grant Co.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Meadows of Lexington and Linda and Gene Dyson of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services held at the Stone Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Rev. Bill Fox officiating. Burial in Boner Cemetery.
