HIXTON -- Edna Mae Paulson, 91, of Marshfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services for Edna Mae will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral home in Hixton. Burial will take place in the Northfield Lutheran Cemetery in Northfield. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Edna was born Jan. 23, 1911, in Manchester, Iowa, to Fred W. and Mary E. (Boehm) Barr. She moved to Montana and then in 1923 moved to Greenwood where she graduated from high school. She attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn., in 1932, becoming a registered nurse. Following her schooling she worked in Neillsville as a nurse.

In 1952 she married Leonard Paulson in Elko, Nev. They moved to Spokane, Wash., where she was employed as a nurse in several hospitals and as a private duty nurse. Her husband preceded her in death on March 22, 1987. Following his death she moved to Marshfield.

She is survived by one son, Keith Marg of Neillsville; two brothers, Jake (Ruth) Barr of Greenwood and Fred (Bernyce) Barr of Willard; two sisters, Frances Marg of Eau Claire and Anna Fae Heck of Neillsville; besides other relatives and friends.
