Richard loved to travel and following college he backpacked to over 31 countries. Along with The Links, Incorporated, he traveled to South Africa 1998 and with St. Paul to the Holy Land with his wife. Throughout his life he visited 49 states.
Richard is survived by his wife of 20 years, attorney, Katherine E. Wilson; daughter, Elizabeth Shagam (Doug); son, Steven; stepson, John (Ruby Fields); grandchildren: Nicholas, Sydney, Morgan; and 7 step grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 2nd at St. Paul's By The Sea Episcopal Church at 412 N. 11th Street, Jacksonville Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's By The Sea Episcopal Church Foundation. A reception will follow the interment of ashes in the church Memorial Garden.
