J.B. Brown, 75, of 241 W. St. Clair St. died Tuesday at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness.
Services are 11 a.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
A native of Magee, Mr. Brown had been a resident of Jackson since 1947. He was a member of Asbury Congregational Methodist Church and had attended Magee public schools. Before his retirement in 1972, he had been a welder for over 25 years with Walker Welding and Machine Co.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bernice Brown of Jackson; son, James C, Brown of Clinton; sister, Mrs. Mattie Mae Stubbs of Magee; brother, Hilburn Brown of Magee; stepsons, Mack Watkins of Jackson and Donald Watkins of Shorter, Ala.; stepdaughters, Mrs. Shirley Everett of Evansville, Ind., and Mrs. Janette Kennedy of Heidelberg; and two grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Asbury Congregational Methodist Church.
