Born in Lockhart, SC; she was the daughter of the late William J. Head and Dolly Crawford Head and the widow of first husband Lewis Latimer and second husband, Furman I. Passmore. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Latimer and Patrick Latimer; daughter, Nancy Elaine Hicks; grandson, Joseph Lewis Latimer; three sisters and two brothers.
She had been a longtime resident of Franklin, NC. She loved cooking, canning, traveling and being with her family and church family. She was a member of Franklin Church of God.Memorial service for Martha Ruth Latimer Passmore will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Immanuel Baptist Church with Steve Mallow, pastor officiating.
Burial at a later date will be in the Union Methodist Cemetery in Franklin, North Carolina.

Survivors include her son, Joe Latimer and his wife, Brenda, Geronimo, daughter, Margaret Ann Owens and her husband, Tommy, Clover, South Carolina, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in the by her first husband, Lewis Latimer, second husband, Furman I. Passmore, two sons, Ronnie Latimer and Patrick Latimer, daughter, Nancy Elaine Hicks, grandson, Joseph Lewis Latimer, parents, three sisters and two brothers.
