BROWN, Lottie B. Age 87 of Oxford, Ohio, passed away at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital on Monday, January 21, 2019. Lottie was born in Landersville, Alabama on December 29, 1931 to Theodore Davis, and Lizzie Mae Davis. Bea accepted Christ at an early age, would go on to graduate from Moulton Rosenwald Negro High School and pursue higher education at Alabama A&M. Bea left Alabama in the early 1950's moving to Oxford, Ohio. It was there she married Thomas L. Brown. Together they had one child, son Wayne, born into a loving Christian family. In Oxford, Bea taught Sunday School initially at First Baptist Church and subsequently at The African Methodist Episcopal Church. Bea worked at McCollough-Hyde Memorial Hospital and went on to work at the Miami University library. She retired from Miami after 25 years of service. Bea led a rich Christian family life. And until her sister's passing, she and Cleo were inseparable. Bea is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Brown, son Wayne Brown, and grandson Brandon Robinson Brown, siblings Johnnie Mae (Bibb), Ethel (Thirlkill), Cleo (Brown), Henry Davis Tommie Lee (Dozier) and a half-sister Ella McCord. Missing and cherishing her memory is her sister, Mildred Smith of Town Creek, Alabama and her numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation for Lottie B. Brown will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Bethel AME Church, 14 South Beech Street, Oxford OH 45056. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Saturday February 2, 2019. Officiating Rev. Samuel A.
