Mrs. Porter was born in Manchester, GA on April 3, 1939, the daughter of the late Samuel Hilary Cox and Lucille Mathis Cox. She worked as an office Clerk at Goody Manufacturing in Manchester for 37 years. Mrs. Porter was a member of West End Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, James Steve Porter and two sisters, Louise Swygert and Dorothy Clare. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Tommy Porter, of Williamson, GA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Mrs. Porter will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, January 30th in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Lipp officiating.
