Mr. Allen “Delmar” Haney, age 78, of Carter Caves Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, entered into rest, Friday morning, September 13, 2019, at his residence.
He was born October 16, 1940, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Lewis Edward and Mary McGlone Haney.
Delmar was of the Christian faith and gave his heart to the Lord on June 6, 2019. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a life long farmer. Delmar enjoyed Sprint car racing, muskie fishing, raising cattle, going to West Carter basketball games and he could always be found loafing in Olive Hill with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine Henderson Haney, one brother, Carlos Eugene Haney.
Delmar is survived by Wayne Carper (Teresa) of Grayson, Kentucky and Dallan Conn of Olive Hill, Kentucky, whom he thought of as his own; one brother-in-law, Dempsey Henderson Jr. (Joy) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four sisters-in-law, Alice Edison of Lansing, Michigan, Mary Jordan and Janice Bailey (Estill), all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Wanda Carroll (Steve) of South Carolina; and special friend and caregiver, Louise Callihan of Olive Hill, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Oakland Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Randy Binion officiating.
