CLARENCE E. SEXTON
(1892-1954)

Clarence E. Sexton, 61, of 1909 Valley St., North Moreland, pump operator at the steel plant, died today at Portsmouth General Hospital. He had been a patient the last 10 days. Death was attributed to a heart condition.

Mr. Sexton had been employed as a pump operator in the mechanical department of Detroit Steel Corp. Portsmouth Division the last 17 years.

He was of Baptist faith.

He was born Oct. 14, 1892, in Adams County, a son of the late William Sexton and Mrs. Mary Sexton Adadil. He was married July 2, 1917, to the former Callie Graham, who survives.

Mr. and Mrs. Sexton lived in the North Moreland area the last 20 years.

Surviving are his mother, who lives at Greenfield; the wife; three daughters, Mrs. Annabelle Eiford and Mrs. Imogene Kilgore, both of Dayton, and Mrs. Edna Mae Adkins, 5000 1/2 Lakeview Ave., New Boston; two son, David Wade Sexton of Cleveland, and Bernard Sexton, 1815 Valley St.; three sisters, Bessie Sexton and Mrs. Myrtle Robbins, both of Greenfied, and Mrs. Eddie Hall of Alabama; and 18 grandchildren.

The father, a son, Chan, and a daughter, Kathleen, preceded in death.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at North Moreland Christian Church with Rev. John Kemper, Rev. Alonzo Ferguson and Rev. James Lavender officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Piatt Funeral Home. The body will be at the residence tonight.
