PEGGY IONE REID, 78, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 20, 1940 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Victor Owen and Mary (Williams) Thumma.
Peggy was a graduate of Smithsburg High School, class of 1958. In addition to being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, she was a bookkeeper for Horst Fencing and the family business R-N-R Auto Body where she delighted the employees with her weekly baked goods. Peggy was a member of Salem Reformed Church, Hagerstown, since 1962.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 60 plus years, Kenneth Lee Reid, whom she married September 16, 1960; two children, Ronald Reid, and Traci Green; three grandchildren, Ryan Reid, Ross Reid, and Madison Green; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Evan Reid; and her golden retriever, Macee.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery. Arrangements by the Rest Haven Funeral Home.
