Jane passed away quietly on January 11, 2019, with her daughters at her bedside.
Jane was born May 19, 1929 in Waco, Texas, to William Orville Davis and Dora Alice Bundy Davis.
She grew up in Lacy-Lakeview, graduated from Waco High in 1947 and Four-C Business College in 1949. It was at Four-C that she met the love of her life, Donald Vernon Stolte. They married in 1950 and celebrated 60 years of happy marriage.
Jane accepted Christ as her savior at age 9 and joyfully served the Lord teaching children for over 50 years.
She considered those years among her greatest blessings. Many knew her as “Jingles the Clown.” While living in Missouri, Jingles was created to give a witness to God’s love and healing power in her life. It was there that Jingles developed a clown ministry with the Junior/Senior youth at her church.
She was a beloved mentor and tutor to many children, both in Missouri and Texas. She and her husband were also Elders in the Presbyterian Church for many years.
Jane was very creative and enjoyed writing for children. Although not published, she wrote several cute and funny stories for the children that she mentored.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; her brother, Weldon of Lufkin and his wife, Kathryn “Polly” Morgan Davis; her brother Bill, of Waco and his wife, Nana Connor Davis; and son-in-law, Paul Strief.
She is survived by her two daughters, Katie Strief and Terry Stolte, both of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Aaron Rodriguez and his wife, Susy, and their two children, Jonathan and Evelyn of Dallas; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
