THERESE GROSZ

Mrs. Theresa Gross(sic) of Kiel passed away at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Herman Lange, in Milwaukee, Thursday morning. Mrs. Gross had been operated on at St. Joseph's hospital about four weeks before for gall stones, and at that time it was discovered that she had a double cancer. She was taken to the home of her daughter, where she passed away.

Mrs. Gross, nee Theresa Dittmann, was born in Saxony, Germany, about seventy-three years ago. On reaching womanhood she was married to Carl Gross. Thirty years ago they came to this country and settled at Kiel, where Mrs. Gross has resided ever since. She was an invalid the past few years and confined to her bed for a long time. Several months ago she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. August Weber, at Plymouth, who cared for her until she was removed to the hospital for an operation.

Deceased is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Valentine Raeder of Greenbush, Mrs. John Beck of the town of Plymouth, Mrs. Herman Lange of Milwaukee, Mrs. Aug. Weber of Plymouth and Mrs. Oscar Oberreich of Fond du Lac; twenty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in Kiel Saturday afternoon from the Meiselwitz undertaking rooms, with burial in the Kiel cemetery. Rev. W. Rech of the Refomed church officiated. - December 1923
