Daughter of Alma LeCornu Kerby and Amelia Eldredge Rogers.

Alice and her husband, Millard Elam, had two children together: Mildred Alice Kerby Bird and Jack Elam. Jack's birth certificate lists a birth name of William Scott Elam*.

Alice did not die when Jack was 1 year old as is erroneously reported in several biographies of the actor. He was almost 4 years old.

"Mrs. Elam Dies

Mrs. Alyce Elam, 28, wife of Millard Elam of Miami, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Kirby of Globe Sunday afternoon at 11:30 o'clock, following a lingering illness of about one year.
The deceased was a resident of Miami for about eight years prior to her death. She leaves a husband and two small children to mourn her loss.
Funeral services will be held from Jones Funeral home at Globe, Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., the Rev. Bishop Hunsaker officiating."
