Patricia Ann Barnes, 80 years, of Wynona, Oklahoma, passed away on June 9, 2018 at Skiatook Nursing Home in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She was born on May 15, 1938 in Kerrville, Texas to Goulder and Beulah (Leatherman) Spurgin and lived there until around 1953, when the family moved to Wynona.

The family then moved to Hominy, Oklahoma in 1955 and became members of the First Baptist Church. Pat met and married Walter Powell and they settled down in Wynona and had 5 children. Pat later married Ron Barnes.

Pat worked many jobs in her life. She taught at the Hominy Head Start and also at the Pershing Head Start. Pat was best known for working at the Wynona Café. She could tell you where every drilling rig was set up and who was working what well. Pat later worked at the Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy as a Kitchen Supervisor until she retired.

Pat is survived by: her 5 children: Larry Powell and his wife, Sheila, Diana Gregory, Clint Powell and his companion, Rebecca Jones, Joann Pitts and her husband, Ken, and Lafaun Owens; 11 grandchildren: Stacy, Holly, Jake, Becca, Robin, Charla, Leah, Tiffani, Jessie, Angela, Tim; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Beverly Myers and her husband, Dan, Opal Templeton and her husband, Ken.

Pat is preceded in death by: her husband, Ron Barnes; her parents: Goulder and Bealah Spurgin; 3 sisters: Marjorie Lou Spurgin, Carolyn Pierce and Janette Frisbee; brother: Charles Spurgin; granddaughter Tana Stover; and great-grandson: Caleb.

Funeral services are 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Hominy, Oklahoma with the Pastor Mark Formby officiating. Burial will follow services at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy.
