Eloy “Pancho” Gallegos, 76, a lifelong resident of Abiquiu, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Gallegos; parents Gabriel and Corina Gallegos; sister Maryeve Martinez. Eloy served honorably for over 20 years and was a retiree of the US Air Force. Eloy loved being in the outdoors hunting and fishing he enjoyed wood carving and leather crafts. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Mr. Gallegos is survived by his children Conrad and Bobbi Cordova, Maria Gallegos, Manuela Stauss, Agreda and John Clark, Misha and Emily Gallegos, Alta Garcia, Colorado Cordova and Castillo Cordova; grandchildren Jolinda, Valentina, Zane, Hailey, Jessica, Lillian, JJ, Jashawn, Samantha, Raquel, Kristyana and Cruzita; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Lupe Gallegos (Della); sisters Pablita “GuGu” Lujan; and Perla Davis (Charlie) and his mother in law Rafaelita Martinez; plus numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Public visitation will begin on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Abiquiu Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers; Jashawn Garcia, Juan “JJ” Cordova, Dennis Gallegos, Estevan Gallegos, Pablo Lujan, Paul Rivera, Aaron Mondragon and Cruz Gallegos.
