SARAH MEYERS
(1877-1954)

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Sarah Jane Meyers, 76, widow of Charles Meyers, who died Monday at her home at 1810-B Kendall Ave.

Mrs. Meyers had lived in Portsmouth since 1918 and was a member of New Boston Apostolic Church.

She was born April 2, 1877, in Greenup County, a daughter of William C. and Mary Frazee Riley. Her husband died in 1950.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Powell of Canton, Mrs. Minnie Fisher, 908 Fourth St., and Mrs. Clara Lowder of Spargurville; two sons, J.W. Meyers, 725 Second St., and Willard Meyers, North Hill Rd.; four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Billups of Brushart, Ky, Mrs. Emma Bear of Tygarts Valley, Ky., Mrs. Margaret Bennett of Rosemount Rd., and Mrs. Hannah Darnell of Greenup; two brothers, M.J. and Lewis Smith, both of Brushart, Ky.; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The parents, husband, and six children preceded in death.

Rev. L.J. Roshon will officiate at services at New Boston Apostolic Church with burial in Powellsville Cemetery under direction of Lynn Funeral Home. The body may be viewed at the home of J.W. Meyers, 725 Second St., until 1 p.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church.

*Note: There is a misprint in the mother's name. Instead of Riley, it should be Smith.
