Judy A. Peters, 71, of Dayton and formerly of Des Moines, passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

Judith Ann Cain was born on February 16, 1947, in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Vera (Graham) Cain. She graduated from High School in the Hawarden area.

Judy did secretarial work for the Des Moines Public School System for many years until retiring. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and most of all - time spent with friends and family. Judy was known for her fiesty personality!

Survivors include her daughter Sarah Peters (Dale Iles) of Dayton, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Amy Peters; grandchildren, Megan (Bo) Jackson, Arabella (Hunter) Peters, and Lakota (Rebecca) Peters; great-granddaughter, Johnny Amber Cramer, a great-granddaughter due to arrive soon, Amira Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and her ex-husband Kendall Peters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Timothy John Peters, two sisters, Helen and Jana, one brother, Jim, and her significant other, Joseph Barnes.
